Today we bid farewell to Martin's family. It sucked! Airport goodbyes are always tough. Martin and I have had more than our share during the last two years. In the beginning, we were saying goodbye to each other. Then our goodbyes were to our families...first mine when I moved to London, then his when he moved to the U.S.
It's certainly not easy living so far away from family. It is even harder now because of Grace. We really want her to know her Irish family, and it's sad that she'll only see them once or twice a year. Martin and I are blessed with awesome families...we just wish they all lived in the same place!
Today's airport goodbye was one of the hardest yet. We were all in tears, except Grace who slept right through it. I thought that she was the lucky one because she didn't realize just how difficult those moments were. I don't look forward to seeing her tears when she has to say goodbye in the years to come. Ugh.
On a happy note, our visit with the family was absolutely wonderful. I will always remember the last two weeks. We had a blast, and Grace had fun getting to know her grandparents, aunt, uncle, and cousin. There are tons of pictures on our photo site: http://picasaweb.google.com/amberfogarty. Enjoy :-)
