Farewell to 2007

It's hard to believe that 2007 is coming to an end in just a few hours. What a year it has been for our family! We started the year with great anticipation, as I was 4 months pregnant with our first child. We were looking forward to the joys and challenges of parenthood and couldn't wait to meet our little angel. We were anxious to see if we would have a boy or a girl, but decided to wait until the birthday to find out.

The year got off to a good start with Martin starting a new job, his first job in the U.S., after many long months of waiting until we completed the immigration process. In addition to working, we were starting to prepare for our baby's arrival.

We started looking online at houses and dreaming about having a place of our own. One Sunday in March, Martin found the right house. We came to see it and made an offer that day. Within three weeks, the house was ours, and we set out to make it a home before baby's arrival. It was completely surreal, and we knew that this house was meant to be ours.

The next big day in 2007 just happened to be the biggest day of our lives...well, actually two days. On Friday, May 25th, I checked in to the hospital in labor, and early the next morning, Grace Calleigh was born! I will never forget the first time I laid eyes on Grace. I was, and still am, completely in awe of the miracle we created.

Since that wonderful day, 2007 continued to be one of the best years of our life! Martin and I have cherished every moment together as husband and wife and every second with Grace. As this year comes to an end, we thank each of you who have been such integral parts of our lives. We are humbled by the family and friends who have stood by us this year and throughout our marriage. We love you and hope you know how very special you are to us.
